TUITION

My fees are $55 per month. Tuition is due the first week of the month. If tuition is paid the first week of the month you receive a five dollar discount. The first lesson is free (-$12 from the first month’s tuition) and I will prorate the first month.

MAKE-UP LESSONS

If there is an emergency or the student is sick a make-up lesson may be scheduled. If 24-hour notice is given I am also willing to give a make-up lesson. Please notify me as soon as possible if the student is going to miss a lesson. If I have an emergency or have to cancel a lesson for any reason I will either teach a make-up lesson or discount the next month’s tuition.

SUMMER SCHEDULE AND HOLIDAYS

No lessons are given on the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas. I occasionally take off for vacation or other important events and I expect that my students will occasionally need to do the same. I will give advance notice of these times off and I expect the same of my students.

PARENTS

Having parents at lessons can make the students nervous and can interfere with teaching so I don’t encourage parents to be present.

MATERIALS

Students are expected to pay for their own books and come prepared each week to class with their instrument and other necessary materials and books. Students are expected to bring their own instrument. I do my best to keep the cost of the books down. I use Essentials 2000, Rubank, and Alfred’s Essentials of Music Theory.

INSTRUMENT REPAIR

It is important to keep instruments in good working condition. Instruments occasionally need to be repaired. A prompt repair is important so practice and lessons can resume as quickly as possible.
